Question 16

Why should I shop with REI?

Accepted Answer

Shopping at REI offers several benefits. REI is an industry leader when it comes to top-quality, name-brand, and eco-friendly outdoor gear. They have a huge and ever-growing product selection, so choices are not limited. REI promises gear born from and built for an outdoor life. Most importantly, it's built to be affordable. They design outdoor gear and apparel to break down barriers like cost, activity level, and sizing to get everyone outside.

For regular shoppers, an REI Co-op membership might be a good investment. The cost of membership is modest and gives shoppers a chance to earn back a percentage of what they spend at the end of each year. Members have access to special discounts, in-store and virtual events, and free standard shipping on most purchases. The perks also extend beyond getting cash back. For instance, members now have the opportunity to save up to 33% on most gear rentals and 20% on REI’s bike shop and ski and snowboard shop services, plus free flat-tire repair and machine wax. Members also get exclusive access to the retailer’s Member Collection, which includes early access to new gear, limited-edition items, special offers, and one-of-a-kind brand collaborations.

In addition, REI has a one-year no-questions-asked return policy for members, while non-members are limited to a 90-day return window. This return policy is different from the limited lifetime warranty covering REI Co-op–branded gear in case of manufacturer defects.

These are just a few reasons why shopping at REI can be a great choice for outdoor enthusiasts.

Question 32

Accepted Answer

There seems to be some confusion regarding student discounts at REI. However, other sources state that REI does not offer student discounts. It's recommended to verify this information directly on the REI website or contact their customer service for the most accurate and up-to-date information.

In addition to potential student discounts, REI offers a variety of other discounts and benefits. For example, REI Co-op Members get free U.S. standard shipping with no minimum order required. They also offer volume discounts on REI clothing and gear.
